Armed Forces of Ukraine transfer 17 Leopard 2 tanks to the border with Transnistria

The Armed Forces of Ukraine sent 17 Leopard 2 tanks to the border to Transnistria.

A few days ago, Avia.pro journalists reported on the movement of a convoy of Western-made military equipment in Odessa. It was about Leopard 2 tanks, however, as it turned out, the latter were moving not in an easterly direction, but in a western direction - in the direction of the border of Transnistria. The Svobodnaya Pressa publication suggests that the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) may become one of the potential areas for the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU).

17 German Leopard 2 tanks were seen in the convoy and it is assumed that Kyiv can use them in one of two ways. The first option involves the application of the main counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Transnistria. In this case, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (RF Armed Forces) will be forced to decide whether to provide assistance to the TMR or to ignore the invasion of the Ukrainian army. The second option is very likely, because otherwise the Armed Forces of Ukraine may try to carry out counterattacks in several directions of the existing front line. However, sending heavy tanks to Transnistria could pose a serious problem for the region, as the Transnistrian Republic does not have the means to destroy heavy and well-protected military equipment.

A little earlier, Ukraine announced that they did not plan to attack Transnistria, however, it is noteworthy that the day before, President of Moldova Maia Sandu announced that Chisinau intends to return Transnistria under its control and join the EU.
